Sacramento Best Places to Work  

Each year, the Sacramento Business Journal holds “Best Places to Work” awards for local companies, based on anonymous employee surveys.

The Spirit of Innovation: New Solutions 

Founded in 2016, Rhombus was one of the first companies in the world to develop cloud-based physical security at the enterprise level. 

Since pioneering cloud security cameras, we've continued to create new, innovative ways to serve our customers. From new product lines and services to new features rolled out at no cost, we're proud to share our expertise and pave the way for modernized physical security.  

Rhombus Access Control 

2023 was dominated by our biggest and most exciting launch to date—Rhombus Access Control.  

Access Control was our most-requested solution by far, and we’re thrilled to have put it in the hands of our users. With Rhombus Access Control, you can unify building management like never before and unlock new insights with native video and audio: 

• Capture synchronized video clips of access events. 
• Easily investigate access events with corresponding footage. 
• Automatically verify guests in real time as they badge in. 
• Receive live alerts for denied entry. 
• Orchestrate sophisticated workflows between access control, cameras, sensors, and alarms. 

With Rhombus Access Control, entry events are automatically marked in the video timeline for fast and easy navigation.

SOC 2 Type 1 Compliance 

In 2023, Rhombus officially achieved SOC 2 Type 1 compliance. 

Rhombus was founded by cybersecurity experts and built to be secure by default. Since its inception, Rhombus has safeguarded data using industry best practices and more—we're proud to receive official recognition for these standards. Rhombus has a flawless track record and puts data privacy first, with end-to-end encryption, strict data privacy protocols, automatic health monitoring, and more. 

New Cameras and Sensors 

This year, new smart cameras and upgraded sensors joined the Rhombus product suite: 

• R230 Camera—as a 5MP dome with optical zoom, this camera balances high-quality video, zoom capabilities, and bandwidth usage. It’s also the first Rhombus camera to have WiFi connectivity, which gives you more coverage with less cabling and is ideal for rapid, temporary, and flexible deployments.
• Two sensor upgrades—the E15 Environmental Sensor and the D20 Door Sensor replaced their respective sensors with better weatherproofing and increased battery life. 
• We also simplified the security management process by eliminating licensing fees for the majority of sensors.
• B10 Smart Button—this compact device is a discreet and programmable button with two modes: Panic Mode and All-Purpose Mode.

New Integrations—Your Security, Your Way 

In addition to having an open API, Rhombus is thoughtfully built to be integration-friendly, so that users can create a seamless and customized experience with dozens of plug-and-play integrations. 

In 2023, we expanded our Technology Partnerships to include exciting new industry-specific, workflow, and AI computer vision integrations, including: 

• Omnilert
• Roboflow
• Singlewire’s Informacast
• Lumeo
• Pimloc

Integrations are a key part of the Rhombus platform, and we will continue to build our library of integrations so you can connect your favorite third-party solutions to streamline operations, add functionality, and get more out of your existing tech stack. 

Growth, Partnerships, and People 

At Rhombus, our impact spans the globe as we work tirelessly to protect people, places, and assets across every continent (sorry, Antarctica!). With a presence in dozens of countries, we send over 2 million alerts daily.

Supporting the Global Partner Network 

In November, we had the pleasure of hosting the second annual Partner Forum. A handful of Rhombus Partners joined us for 2.5 days of engaging sessions, networking opportunities, and some much-needed fun. 

We shared with our Partners what they can expect from us over the next year, and heard from them about how Rhombus can better support our Partner Network and their customers. We have some big ideas coming in 2024, and plan to connect and grow our Partner Program, as well as expand this event year after year.

Nurturing the Community 

Team Rhombus is on a mission to build a safer future. Along the way, we’re weaving a spirit of community service into our company culture. 

Our two biggest initiative this year were our partnership with the American River Parkway Foundation and the Sacramento Children’s Home. 

The Sacramento Children's Home fulfills the wishes of over 1,500 local children each holiday season, and Team Rhombus was proud to take part in their beautiful "Wish Star Program" for the third year in a row. 

In 2022, we launched a long-term community service project: we partnered with the American River Parkway Foundation and adopted a mile alongside the American River.
